Yellow and Grey Bound Necklace by Kate Trouw
A simple sculptural necklace made by hand from polymer clay. A large gently curved bead and a smaller cylindrical bar are bound together with natural cotton cord in a balanced composition.
The polymer clay has a smooth eggshell finish that feels soft and warm against the skin. The necklace is designed so that the beads sit in the middle of the chest. The length can also be shortened by tying the knot further along the cord.
Each piece is handmade so there may be small differences between the images and your necklace.
Kate Trouw is the second maker to be showcased in the Barbican's Makers initiative. Combining architecture with geology, her striking ceramic jewellery is exclusively on sale until June 2017.
