Artists This Way Print by Jamie Temple
£295.00
One from a pair of linocut prints inspired by the surfaces and materials of the Barbican Hall. The prints depict the steps that have carried countless visitors to their seats in the auditorium; and across which so many inspiring artists, producers, performers, and directors have taken the stage.
Jamie Temple has created the prints to celebrate the Barbican's 40th anniversary. After visiting the centre, he became obsessed with the end grain wooden floor used to create such inviting spaces in the lower level foyers and concert hall. Through a process of photography and sketches, Temple has produced compositions that focus on the architectural details of the staircases. The final prints are a combination of hand printed reduction and multi-block linocuts, with three separately printed layers of colour.
Unframed linocut on 250gsm Somerset Satin paper. Limited edition of 20.
