Postwar Modern Vase by Emma Johnson
Postwar Modern vase by Emma Johnson
Inspired by the Postwar Modern: New Art in Britain, 1945-1965 exhibition, Emma Johnson has created a ceramic collection exclusively for the Barbican. The form of each piece features off-centre stacked shapes made from a tactile combination of glazed and unglazed dark grey stained porcelain.
The range is inspired not only by the exhibition but also by the Barbican, with shapes such as the cup handle reflecting architectural forms and details from the estate.
Emma Johnson designs and makes handmade ceramics in her Brighton-based studio.
